We’ll be demonstrating grade reversals and drainage’s, full bench work and sustainable trail design while staying on top of a consistent trailbed width, and outslope. You know, generally having a grand time swinging tools and making friends.
Donuts are coming by way of the breakfast club, lunch and beverages will, of course, be had as well!!!
We’ll be working the first Sunday of the month March thru November, moving a week early for Labor Day. Dates may wobble, disappear or materialize as required to keep you on your toes.
The work FUN series is brought to you by Friends of Patapsco Valley State Park. Most of the time I try to drag my kids along and some of us always hike in. Let me know you’re coming via email or the facebook so we know how many donuts/tools/snacks to bring ( especially if you’re bringing kids, they like to run in packs – dear parents, bring a change of clothes for the sMORE’s, they’ll need it ). You should bring gloves and sturdy footwear suitable for doing trail work outside, something to drink, a smiling face and your favourite tool. Expect to get dirty, wet and have a ton of fun doing it!
Bonus goodies for all volunteers:
Patapsco FUN Series t-shirts are in your future.
For each 2018 Patapsco FUN Series trail day you attend you’ll be entered into a drawing to win your choice of a Rogue Hoe Trail Tool courtesy of TrailWerks Cyclery
Drawing will be held on the last 2018 Patapsco FUN Series trail day, no need to be present to win.
( tentative ) 3 trail work days or 10 hours gets you a 10% discount on race entry for the 6 Hours of Woodstock
Visit those local shops often you crazy kids!
