Please come out and enjoy Dirt Prom at REI NoMA in DC Saturday.
BEER sale proceeds benefit MORE and you get to compete in mini fat bike pump track time trials. The winners will be crowned King and Queen of the Dirt.
We do need volunteers to staff ticket sales and pass out beers. A DCCX number plate gets you two beers for $5 instead of two for $10.
Contact Rob Lowe if you are able to volunteer.

Come out for a great evening and please help spread the word about Dirt Prom.

Like many of these rides, the destination is a familiar name. But if your opinions are formed from a visit in year’s past or by passing through on the MoCo Epic, you don’t know what you’re missing at Little Bennett!

MoCo Parks in partnership with Trail Conservancy have renovated trails throughout the park (still working too - this ride plans to take advantage of a new bridge). Much like Black Hill with the new 10 Mile Creek Trail, Little Bennett circa 2017 is definitely an alternative to Schaeffer.

We’ll meet at 10 AM at the Soper’s Branch Trailhead at 24615 Frederick Road (MD-355) in Clarksburg.

The ride itself will continue the Discovery model of multiple groups with a range of pace/distance. One of the leaders for this one is Trail Conservancy boss Austin Steo, so you are sure to get the full deluxe tour.

The trails? I’d say a half-step up from Schaeffer and Black Hill - a wee bit more climbing and even the occasional rock.

The après ride destination is Laurienzo Brick Oven Cafe at 1896 Urbana Pike in Clarksburg.

We’ll meet at the Signal Knob parking lot and drive together to Mud Hole Gap to work on clearing drains on the descent from the ridge trail (i.e. keeping sweet gnarly stuff sweet and gnarly). Bring your bike and we can get some riding in afterward , then grab some grub at Splunker’s (local burger/ice cream place) or Los Portillo (Mexican food).
