2017-04-09: MD Cabin John: Green.5pm, 70 °F. Some dust, mostly dry to damp hard pack, very little mud. I hadn’t been there in awhile: lots new trail care up north of Tuckerman, and a new “turnpike” across the Bradley Swamp- NICE.

While the trail surfaces were okay, there are several large trees down!!! It’s going to take a lot of work clearing.

2017-06-01: MD Black Hill East 3pm, 80 °F, YELLOW Maybe. Peeked at Black Hill Cabin Branch, Hard Rock, & Optical Fiber Line from Lake Ridge Dr: there were some soft spots near the entry points, but as far as I could see, the rest of the trails looked passable.

2017-06-02: MD Black Hill East 3pm, 80 °F, YELLOW. Hard Rock was GREEN, dry to damp. Cabin Branch has some muddy sloppy spots that aren’t draining well. Hoyles Mill in Black Hill was in better shape than Cabin branch, but still had a few soft spots.

2017-06-12: MD Cabin John 12pm, 90 °F, GREEN. Dry to damp hard pack, big mud pits with ride-arounds in the Bradley Swamp but there’s a new turnpike to ride through the worst of it. Some new rerouted trails up on the hill north of River Rd and north of Bradley.

2017-06-13: MD Little Bennett 4pm, 90 °F, GREEN. Dry to damp hard pack, but still some big mud pits (drying play dough) with ride-arounds. There are a couple of mud pits in troughs on the new Windy Ridge extension (County built section) that have been damaged my mud and are not rideable- folks have taken the high road around the pits.

2017-06-24: MD Emmitsburg 10pm, 75 °F, GREEN. Dry to damp hard pack- East side a littler dryer then the west side. Some good dirt up there.

Tree down- west side to the left Lollypop loop: 12-40 (12″ diameter, top of tree is 40″ above the trail).

2017-06-26: MD Seneca Greenway 3pm, 75 °F, GREEN. Some dust, dry to damp hard pack, a few mud pits in Brinks Swamp North (but ridable). The new trails up on the ridgelines are breaking in quite nicely- good flow, swoopy, curvy, and fun.
