Thumbs up Skills Clinic Ride with punga!

As promised, the rescheduled skills clinic ride. I'm gonna send this to Dirt and James, but if anyone else with the calendar decoder ring stumbles along and sees this, please post it up.

What: Moderate ride around Schaeffer. We'll be gearing this ride toward what techincal features the group would like to stop and work on. We'll get into clearning logs of all sizes, log piles, skinnies on logs (sensing a theme here?), climbing waterbars, catching sweet air, 2-3 foot wheelie drops, and anything else we can think of.

Where: Schaeffer Farms Trailhead Parking Lot.

When: Saturday, June 17, 2006 @ 2:30pm.

Pace: Somewhere between Casual to Moderate. Don't let the speed throw you off, we'll be stopping at trail features enough for people to catch up and/or rest. And not being a fast climber, we won't dropping people left and right.

Terrain: Intermediate. Nothing most people couldn't get through with little or no walking. And since the goal of this ride to learn, we'll stop at anything people would like work on.

Distance: Plan on 10-15 miles. Depends on how much time we spend on features.

Duration: Plan to be on the trail about 2:30-3 hours. There will be plenty of bail out points.

Effort: Medium and however much effort people spend on features.

Directions: MD Route 270 to exit 15B Rt.118 West - Follow for 5 miles - Right onto Richter Farm Road - Take left on 4-way stop on Schaeffer Road - Stay on Schaeffer Road through traffic circle - Shortly after road narrows look for sign to Seneca State Park on the left - Trailhead is at end of parking lot after gate

Contact Info: s_punga at yahoodotcom or 301.675.2117. I'll be driving a blue Mitsubushi Lancer with a big rack hanging off the back. I'll have my phone on the trail if you get there late.
