The
MoCo Epic 2012 registration page will go live this weekend. There are some major changes and improvements this year. Here is a summary of the 2012 event:
-
Date: Sunday, October 14, 2012
-
4 rides: 25-mile (3 parks), 35-mile (6 parks), 50-mile (8 parks), 65-mile (100K+, 11 parks)
-
Event location: Pending final permit approval, the MoCo Epic 2012 will be staged at the Germantown Soccerplex along the
double track dirt road by the pump track.
-
More singletrack: 35-miler and 65-miler rides will use the new
Seneca Bluffs trail instead of Berryville Rd, and possibly all the way to Black Rock Mill. That's about 5 extra miles of singletrack (and 5 fewer miles of paved road). Please help the Seneca Bluffs trail open on time by
coming to the workdays.
-
No more Black Rock Death Climb (

): The 35-m, 50-m and 100K+ will use the new connector trail from Black Rock Mill to Schaeffer's White Trail. That also means more Schaeffer trails for the 50-m and the 100K+.
-
Kids’ activities will be supervised by the
Trails for Youth organization and will include a trail ride, pump track riding and a bike rodeo.
-
Festival: pending permit approval, a bike festival and expo will be held all day at the Soccerplex, near the pump track. We will have music, bike vendors, bike demos, etc...
-
Post-ride party: also pending permit approval, the post-ride party this year will be held under a large tent at the Soccerplex from 4pm to 9pm.
-
Rain date: October 21, 2012
