Hey All,
Know this is a long shot, but felt like I need to take it anyway.
My brother had his mountain bike stolen about 2-3 weeks ago from a locked shed behind his house in Arlington.
Not sure of the date as he had been out of town for about a week, and had not noticed the shed until a few days after his return.
The bike is about a 5-year old Marin Pine Mountain, 19" frame, with a silver/titanium finish. Grip shift, Rigid fork. Has purple bar-ends, a red & black Specialized seat, and would have Road/Cross tires on it. Would be in very good condition.
Normally this would just tick me off. However in this instance I'm really PO'd. My brother just lost his wife a few months ago after a very long illness. He had taken care of her all thru this, and not really gotten any exercise. After she passed away we started riding together again. Partly for the exercise, but just as much to clear his head.
Having the bike stolen was a kick in the ribs to someone already down, not to mention a temporary end to our evening rides.
So, for anyone working in or frequenting bike shops in the Metro DC area, please keep an eye out for anyone trying to sell a bike that fits the above description. Like I said, I know its a long shot, but really don't want to see some low-life profit from their thoughtless disregard for others.
Thanks,
