Saturday October 20: Patapsco Valley State Park

Mark your calendars, there's a big trail work day at Avalon (Patapsco) on Saturday October 20th, 2007. Our plan is to cut new trail and reopen the Charcoal trail to bikes. Yep, you heard right, a formerly hiker only trail will be opened back up to us. There is no way we could have something like this happen if it weren't for the huge volunteer hours that MTBers put in at Patapsco year after year.

We're meeting in the Hilton Area at the end of Hilton Ave off Rolling Road at 9:00 AM. Parking back in the campground loop and cooking out near the tire park.

This is a big project, bring some tools if you have them: Shovels, Rakes, McLeods, etc. We'll have some on hand, but we are expecting a big turn out and will be working with other park volunteers, so the more tools we have the better.

The SSO Factory Team will be bringing a keg of excellent micro brew generously donated by our sponsor Clipper City for post trail work consumption. We'll also be doing a cookout, pot luck style: we'll bring burgers/hotdogs/veggie options and you bring a side dish to share.

Sunday, October 21: Rosaryville State Park

Where: Rosaryville

When: 21 October 2007 @ 9:30am

Meet up at the main parking lot before time for a yummy BREAKFAST!

Breakfast will include, hot coffee (I will have creamer, Splenda, and sugar), hot chocolate, doughnuts, bagels with or without cream cheese, and possibly some other snacks.

We will be working on....well...I don't know yet, but I will let you know when I figure it out.

Bring work gloves, and dress appropriately for the weather. Be prepared to do some walking as well.

Don't forget, if you don't already have one, I can give you a pass to park for free and not pay the entrance fee for Rosaryville and Cedarville. So, don't pay that morning and come see me right away. I drive a Red Ford Ranger with a red cap.
