Nice work today everybody! Felt like we accomplished a lot in a small amount of time. Great teamwork! It was also very encouraging to have some of the young folks out there today too.
Racers have fun next week!

So out of curiosity, what parts of the trail were worked on? I rode out there Sat for the 1st time since early Sept. and couldn't believe how much worse some spots have become (like the end of the rollers).

We couldn't work on the rollers or the berms. Until it rains, our fill dirt is useless. It's either powder or hard as a rock.

Was out there today and it looked like the windy, straight, open part at the north end of Phase I was filled it with lighter gravel/dirt in the divots/potholes at each apex.

I think we have a winner here????
We also benched in a little route on the dirt hill by the end of the gravel road that starts at the recycle bins.

Last night I was riding the trail, parallel to 495, that enters The Bowl from the park road. There is a log pile crossing this trail about 2/3-way down. It looked like a decent up-and-over so I slowed down to ride over. But when my front tire hit the ramp up, they disappeared and I did a nasty endo (pic in battle scars).
When I got up, I looked at the construction and it appears two proper logs (large diameter, long, lots of chain ring scars) were pulled from somewhere and then smaller branches (3-4ft L x 2-3in D) were laid front and back. Since it was about 20:00 and my Achilles was on fire, I put the ramp back together and rode out.
In retrospect, this didn't look like a proper log ramp and it was in a strange place. I could have easily bunny-hopped it at speed but I didn't want to loose my light battery connection ( ) as I've done there once. I'll post a warning if this isn't a MORE constructed obstacle.
