While researching my future purchase, apparently vassago cycles now have a 29er for people 5'2" or taller..

Looks very similar to my custom 29er. I'm a bit under 5'-6", so no surprise there. :)

I'd be interested in seeing some geometry numbers.

Dunno about numbers, they also have a 29 full suspension frame coming out in 08, although no pics or details about that yet..

Interesting.. the first person to reply happens to have the name of the frame I will be purchasing :) eventually (probably post wedding)

I'm just curious how they solved the toe overlap issue. With my custom, I had to go with a longer (23") top tube and shorter 80mm stem (I usually go with a 22.5ish top tube on my bikes). Even so, my toes brush the tire when I wear my winter boots because they are bigger than my standard shoes. I wonder if they slacken the head angle to get the front wheel further out in front?

Kevin Clark rides for Vassago now. I'm sure they will be getting him one soon. I can't remember his MORE handle though.

Kevin is kev0153, I believe.

Ther has been much discussion regarding toe overlap and fork rake. It seems that a lot of companies are addressing this issue by adjusting seat tube angle, lengthening TT and requiring shorter stem.

Seems that the issue is that until this year and 2008, most forks cam with the same trail as 26" forks and did not account for the larger tire. White brothers has been offering forks with incrfeased rake, this is what I have and love them. Now, it seems Fox will have 2 longer rake models, the G2 rake, which is proprietary to GF for a few years, and the aftermarket version. These have rakes of 51 and 46mm. This will really free up manufacturers in design of 29ers for shorter folks.

I know of one High end steel and Ti complete custom brand in particular that has discouraged us from having them build 29ers for people under 5'7"-5'8" or so until the longer rake forks are available as it limits frame design and does not allow for the desirable ride and fit characteristics they prefer to provide.

I'm gonna foot the extra for Redemption Red :) When Kim said she liked that colour, I took that as an implied yes to me buying another bike :D
