There will be a cross country race ( see note below) this afternoon at Wakefield. Some trails will be closed from about 3pm - 6pm. This shouldn't interfere with night riding but if you show up before 6pm you might want to do a loop around Accotink first to avoid any conflict with runners.

On Tuesday there will be a cross country race here in the park. Annandale High School is the host and it will be a four way meet with a big group of runners. It will include the power line hill in part of the course including running up the bermsand then into the woods on the north side of the hill. Otherwise it will be along the CCT and the creek trail but will also run up the power station road and back down the tennis court road. So it will impact trails in several areas of the park. The race will start at 5:00 but there will likely be restrictions on use of the trails as preparation is done from about 3 until about 6, Because this is a night riding night, you might want to put out the word on the MORE site that if people were arriving early, this interference will exist in the early evening.
