I bought this with the intention of building up a separate SS, but have since changed my mind. Since any SS I build will be based on my current ride, and requiring a Singleator, I can't make use of the Fixed feature of this hub.

I'd either like to sell it for $60 or trade it for a free/free version (new or like new).

allen,
i think i have an unlaced silver 1x1 hub that is free free. let me check later today and i'd consider swapping if that works for you.

FYI - you can put a freewheel on both sides of a fixed/free hub, they use the same threading.

I asked Surly about that and they said there weren't enough threads to properly support a freewheel on that side. I did find some info regarding converting my bike to a SS that says a 32/17 gear selection doesn't require a tensioner and that the rear facing dropouts have enough space for minor adjustments. I think I'm going to keep the hub as I do want to try fixed from time to time.

I asked Surly about that and they said there weren't enough threads to properly support a freewheel on that side. Surly is probably just playing CYA, although I'm surprised they would state that. Plenty of people run freewheels on the fixed side and if there is enough threads for your fixed cog, there are plenty to engage the freewheel. That's just my long way of sayin, if you want to run a freewheel over there I wouldn't worry about it.
