THANKS!!
Hey All,
I will be on business travel from October 15th through November 9th. During that period I would like to line up ride leaders for both the Monday and Thursday Night rides.
To be an official Night Ride Leader you must be a MORE member. It is also preferred that we have at least one official Wakefield Trail Monitor as a leader, but we'll take who ever we can. Ride Leaders must be willing to LEAD the ride and willing to submit a Trail Monitor report. The Trail Monitor Reports are part of MORE's agreement with The Fairfax County Park Authority for the continuation of the Night Riding Opportunities at Wakefield Park. They are simple and basic and very easy to fill out.
If you look at the MORE Calendar, you will see that the night rides for Thursday's STOP on October 11th (The last Thursday before the 15th). The days of just posting the ride and hoping for a ride leader are long gone under our Night Riding Agreement.
Although we just need one Ride Leader to post the event, Thursday's typically require 4 ride leaders. So the more the merrier!!!
Looking forward to Keeping Night Riding Alive at Wakefield!!
L
REPLY here, PM me or E-Mail me at larry@more-mtb.org if you want to lead one of these rides.

I can pick up a casual or casual+ ride on Thursday nights if needed. I won't be able to be at the Oct 4th ride, but that isn't important for this discussion.

Can't do it this month, and perhaps into October - gotta love Government year end!

I was going to have Tom add me as the steady Casual lead on Thursdays, but due to serious mechanical failures, I'll be out of commission for a bit. Once I'm back in operation, I'll gladly handle the slot.

Remember - The dates that I need are:
Thursday October 18th, 2007 (Chris has said he'll do Casual +)
Thursday October 25th, 2007 (Chris has said he'll do Casual +)
Thursday November 1st, 2007
Thursday November 8th, 2007
I also need help with Monday rides. My current ride leader does a bang up job of leading but has "ISSUES" with the Trail Monitor Report portion of the duty (Hee Hee). I've been warned about the consistency of our reporting on Monday's. We really need to step it up.

This is just a reminder that there are NO scheduled rides for the dates listed above (Although Chris has said he will tentatively lead on the 18th and 25th).
A few things to note. There is legal night riding at the Audrey Moore/Wakefield Park trail system on Monday's, Tuesday's and Thursday's and you don't have to be associated with the MORE group to go for a ride.
HOWEVER, and this is purely an insurance thing (And MORE is doing it's best to bring their rides more in line with what is legally responsible), if there is not a ride listed in the MORE calendar with an official MORE ride leader then you guys are without MORE's support.
So basically if you all ride, it's like a group of friends getting together for a ride.
There - It needed to be said and I said it
Now we can't let this happen often. Under our night riding agreement we have to have an official night ride on each night the park is open to night riding.
Are we going to lose our night riding privileges because I'm going out of town for 4 weeks??
No.......
But it would be great if we could get some confirmed ride leaders to step-up. It would help all around if this were to happen.

I'll lead the two November ones if no one else can. Kind of a pain for me to get to Wakefield after work, but I should be able to make it.

Jabberwocky, I work just up the street from you. If I'm going to the ride, you're welcome to catch a ride with me.
Actually, the offer is open for any time you want you catch a night ride at Wakefield.

ChrisCool, thanks. I generally don't try to make the Wakefield rides because to do so I need to drive to work, which I dislike doing. But a few nights won't kill me, I guess. Maybe I'll ride the DJ bike to make sure I get an extra good workout. :p

ok, ok.... let me know if you still need someone for the casual rides those weeks - that should be sufficiently beyond Government year end for me to actually be able to make it.

So you bought a hammer and a box of nails?
Oh, I mean inertia driven friction-based fasteners with a handheld inertia delivery system.

OK - I'll leave it open till the end of the Month. If no one else volunteers (And I'll be holding my breath) I'll list you in the MORE Calendar.
Side Note: I'm pretty sure I have current information from Craig and Chris to make a calendar appointment, but if you get a chance send me some POC information to fill in. (Most of us just include a name, an E-Mail address and/or phone number)

I can do Casual, Casual+ or moderate for 11.1 and possibly 11.8 (will have to make the call as we get nearer to that date).

OK - I searched the best I could through the posts and I believe we have November 1st and 8th covered. I also think Craig said he's available for the October 25th ride.
However, we don't have a ride leader for Thursday October 18th (next week). Any takers? Or should we just bag the ride?

I can still do the 25th - let me know if I should add that to my Outlook. The 18th is still open for me, too, but work has been pretty gnarly recently - if you're without a leader come Monday, let me know...

Yup - I needs ya for the 25th. Punga said he can be listed for the November dates but he'll need others to help lead.
((I swear, next to getting TM reports from Joe P, finding ride leaders is like pulling teeth))
