My '03 Marzocchi Marathon SL just doesnt' feel like it used to - could probably be fixed by an overhaul, but it's already been overhauled by me once, back to italy once (when I fried the bushings, negative air cartridge, and had an absurd amount of play in the lowers), so I think it's time to just replace it.

I'm limited to 105mm travel (confiremd with Santa Cruz, they don't recommend more), but I'm sure 115 would be fine. 130 (a la Fox Floats) is probably too much.

I'm down to the Fox F100 (either RLC or X) vs. the Reba Race or Team.

Is the Fox worth the extra money? What about RLC vs. X?

How about the Reba - Race vs. Team? The only difference I noticed was the crown material and a negligible weight savings.

Is it worth dropping extra cash on the new model years for either?

Anybody have these that can comment, or any other suggestions?

I really don't have much for yo uexcept that I have a Reba Race ('05) and it is a stout fork. (I go about 225 loaded up. Been going for over 2 years and only had the pop-lok start leaking. SRAM replaced no questions asked. :) I have no Fox knowledge. Hope I helped a little.

I think Fox abandon the X versions for 2008... guess why.

The F100 is great and so is the Reba. The 2008 F100 is a little lighter than last years. I just bought one but have not built the bike yet. I have a REBA RACE U-turn w/poploc that has been ridden quite a bit and I have not had any issues at all with it. I really like the poploc.

Fox abandoned the X because the guy who designed it went (back?) to specialized. Gotta be some patent issues in there too...

I've been riding an F100X all year. Does exactly what its supposed too. No noticeable delay. Night and day difference to the F100RL that came on the bike w/ respect to bobbing. The only "problem" is when its locked out going slow uphill, well, it rides like its locked out;) No option to turn it off but its a very minor gripe. Sure beats the crap out of reaching down for the little lever all the time (who ever actually does that?). FWIW, if you buy used find a >=2005 model. Supposedly updated over prior ones.

Never ridden a reba to compare. The poploc would be on my must have list if I bought one.

I had my mind all made up to get a Reba for my 29er this next spring but then Fox decided to finally come out with a 29er fork. Now I am stuck in the land of indecision again. I swear all these companies hold video teleconferences and plan out how to stagger the release of their products just to mess with our minds.
