three or four trees across the switchback climbing trail immediately after the dam. you may want to stay on main trail.

Hey can we have a name the accotink trails contest , its hard to explain to folks whats where without names for the trails, so far all I have is boyscout, and main trail for the main trail.

there are trees down all over accotink...it looks like a tornado went through the place. Almost every section of trail has a tree blocking it. Wakefield, only a few miles away has no trees down, go figure.....

Yes, quite a bit, I was in there yesterday morning. I called Fx. Co. Parks (handy-dandy trail maintenance number for these things: 703-324-8594) about the big one on the switchback just beyond the dam, near the RR tracks. Couldn't recall locations of the others offhand, but the 1st one's one of the worst items.

Must have been a lightning strike from the looks of it. Wow; powerful stuff. (Cross-reference Squirrel Girl's story about GA teen struck & killed. Don't mess w/mother nature! :eek:
