I'm wondering if I can get a disc brake mount welded onto an old titanium hardtail frame, and how to find someone who can do this for me.
Any suggestions?

The frame is (I believe) an old russian job from back in the 90's (when they had plenty of welders and titanium to spare). Nothing exotic, and so I expect nothing too fancy in terms of ultra thin tubing, etc.

Thanks

Any suggestions?Yeah, keep it V-brake.

One company that I vaguely recall doing it was Dean. I believed it costed a lot, possibly more than your "Russian job" is worth.

If you really want to pursue a disc brake, maybe the Brake Therapy (http://www.braketherapy.com/conversion.htm)? I've never used one, but I remember this was one of the "goto" things when discs were hitting the scene. However, it's not cheap either, but at least the structural integrity of your frame remains intact.

Gene Spicer (www.spicercycles.com) would probably do it for you. The Braketherapy thing is the easiest way to go though. I used one on an old hardtail for a while and it worked fine. Not cheap but no worries about compromising the frame. www.braketherapy.com. A big plus is it's a simple install. Just take off the v-brake, slide the Braketherapy thingy over the post and adjust it's length and then proceed with the disc brake install. I think I needed one trip to the hardware store for a SS bolt and washers to thread into the brake post. The only thing the guy needs to know is the hub you're using as there is a spacer for the axle.

I've heard Ti Sports does it, I have an old Kona Hei Hei that was actually fabricated by them that I've been considering the idea of getting disc mounts on.
