Bees nest @ Shaffer

There is a big bees nest at Shaffer.


I can't remember the color of the loop but it's in the section with the whoops and "S" turns. It's right near the turn with lots of roots.

I got stung there and about 5 others I talked to mentioned they did too.

Yes, it's in the "halfpipe" section that intersects the white loop. Bunky and I got stung there yesterday. It was like a Three-Stooges episode: One stung me int he arse, which made me pick up the pace considerably. A straight trail would've allowed us to get away faster, but we were cutting back and forth along the turns. It gets the award for most painful bee sting. Whatever they were (hornets?) it really, really hurt. We warned another guy away from there.

there are more than just a the half pipe... we were there today and a poor guy got stung on the lip at the bridge on the yellow trail. We also some some near the red offshoot., just pedaled faster lol

We've emailed the ranger at Schaeffer and he's going to go out there and spray the nest in the next day or two.
