as many of you know we had to re-route the 7pm W@W race last night due to a yellow jacket nest very close to the trail. The nest is on the right just before the wood bridge after you do the 2 switch backs on the power line hill and before the gravel rock banked turn in the woods. I placed an orange cone next to the nest, the trail is currently closed with caution tape which will probably be torn down by somebody. If you do ride this trail stay as far to the left as possible when you pass the cone....

update Friday - the nest has been sprayed and it appears the yellow jackets are gone. the trail has been reopened but the orange cone is still there. To be safe stay to the left of the cone and don't stop in that area.

Thanks for the warning! I hate bees... but I love honey!

There were a lot of bees out tonight at the top of Phase I - at the far north end of the Powerline trails. Didn't see a hive, but when I stopped to take a drink they came out of the woodwork.

I saw that cone during the CM races and was wondering what the heck it was for...
