Hey folks, I'm leading a beginnery-type MTB ride 5/26 9:30 AM at Rosaryville for my work road club. All proficient roadies, including at least one commuter, but little experience on a MTB. It'll be a mellow, no-drop ride, with the goal of convincing hard-core pavement lovers that dirt is fun, too. Y'all are welcome to join up with us.

That sounds like a great way to get my biking legs back after a car accident in Jan & surgery in April ! Count me in!

Not sure if you've met me. Look for the black Toyota quad cab pick-up and the woman on the black QBall single-speed 29er.

Hmmm... I might show up and tag along, at least at first. I doubt roadies would be interested in riding the new stuff, which is what I really want to ride, so I may split off.

Is this courtesy of last week's trail work?

Yep, the inner loop.. its fun.. drops... ramps... skinnies.. skinnies that end in a gigantic drop (I left the skinnies alone last time since I was alone)...
edit: we worked on some of the trails, the actual TTF's are courtasy of IMBA's Rich and Dan :) (gotta give props where props are due) and their volunteers..

How big is the gigantic drop? Is it to flat or a transition?

I do not remember, but I managed to bottom out my niner on the non skinny related drop.... I have only been there twice, once while trail working, once to ride.... I skipped the skinnies for fear of my own well being... while being alone

I do not remember...
Give us a hint. Was it wheel high, thigh high, head high? 15' high? High is in the eye of the beholder. A rough estimate would be nice.

A pure guess.. would be between 2 and 3 feet on the drops.. Austin or Paul would be better tasked to answer the question...

Okay that's about what I figured. Thanks. (Again it's all in the eye of the beholder, to me that might be on the low side of an average sized drop.)
Edit: To the original poster, sorry to hijack your thread. Please carry on and please ignore me.... Thanks.

Was it this big? This drop has 3 parts. The one the rider is on is the tallest, the one next to it is the lowest and you can just see the edge of the middle drop on the right side of the pic.
