Ride Like a Girl will be riding Rosaryville State Park this Saturday, May 5, at 10 am. This is a very beginner-friendly ride, so come out to join us (uhhh... if you're female)!

Rosaryville is an approximately 10 mile loop of tight twisty single-track with some nice climbs and descents. Many of the technical trail features have walkarounds, so this is a good ride for less-experienced riders; it does provide a workout, though. We will have two groups with leaders at this ride: JoM will lead the casual group and Liz will lead a more moderate pace. "Casual" means a slower pace and more-frequent stops to regroup. The moderate group will have fewer stops to regroup, for shorter lengths of time. This is a training ride for me, so we will be moving at a fairly steady pace, but not hammering.

Where: Rosaryville (http://www.more-mtb.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1198) Note: Cost for park access is $3 per Maryland car and $4 per out of state vehicle. We will meet at the first parking lot past the payment kiosk.

About Ride Like a Girl: Most rides are beginner-friendly, but are geared toward women who have at least a little mountain biking experience. Please check the Ride Like a Girl website for information on trails and recommended skill levels. Rides are expected to last from 60 to 120 minutes.

All riders MUST wear a helmet, bring water, and have a trail-ready bike. Riders should also carry the usual basics: spare tube(s), a pump, tire levers, a chain tool, and basic allen wrenches.

Please let me know if you're planning on attending. I'm going to pre-ride a loop at 9 am, anyone is welcome to join.

I'll be there with my single speed so I'll join the casual group. The weather should be perfect! :D

I'll be leading the casual RLAG ride at Rosaryville, going counter-clockwise and doing the complete lap. Hopefully, there will be a good group of riders out on Sat. since there are also the moderate RLAG and Jackson's beginner groups. We are bound to run into each other at some point, so things should be fun. Please keep in mind trail etiquette, we want to make sure folks ride safely. :)

I'm planning on joining the casual group. Looking forward to riding with other ladies. Who (or what bike) should I be looking for?

Hey Liz,
I am going to try to make it. But don't wait for me if I am not there by 10. There should also be one or two other women showing up who did our Beginner Womens Clinics. They were thrilled that there was a beginner womens ride this weekend.

If you PM me your email address, I'll add you to my ride announcement email list.

Sorry you can't make Saturday, but we have all sorts of rides coming up this summer. Next up is Fountainhead on May 19.

Yeah - thanks for leading a great ride.
It was really nice for me to finally be able to join you folks. It was just what I needed to feel good about my mountainbike again!
(Geez, if that keeps up, I may have to change my avatar!)
