Okay, I am trying to learn how to urban and such. I weigh in at 180 and ride at 40 PSI. Everytime I hit something at speed and catch the rear wheel on it I blow the tube. I have tried a few bikes, so it's not the wheel set. I have eaten up six tubes in two days of practice.

Too hard? Too fast? Too low of preasure? Too high of preasure? To much muscle into it? I need to spend less than $40 on tubes to learn this stuff. I seem to blow the tube when I catch the back wheel on whatever. Should I set up some stuff with rounded edges to practice on - some logs or such, or is it just the power of the impact that's blowing the tubes open and I need to slow down or become a lot more proficient at getting the rear wheel up off the ground?

Many of the tubes appear to have split open (tried different brands).

When your riding is primarily street i reccomend a downhill tube in the back tire and around 50-55 psi in the back. You can get away with any tube in the front as long as its not a featherweight tube and i usually run about 40-50 psi in the front tire depending on if im planning to jump that day or not.

What tires are you using? They could be part of the problem...

Kenda Dual Compund Stick-e 2.35's on one bike (FS).

WTB Werewolfs on the other (Cheaper HT).

40psi is way too low for urban riding.
a little more finesse never hurt anyone, but in the mean time I'd try upping that to at least 50. This isn't like riding off road, you can get more than enough traction at 100psi, so why ride so low?
