Saturday, April 7, 10 a.m.: Ride the racecourse at Greenbrier (led by Anne M.)
Greenbrier is somewhat similar to Gambrill, rocky with some serious climbs. This is not a ride for beginners, but if you have a reasonable level of technical riding ability and fitness, you'll be fine. We're only going to have one group, at a casual pace with few stops. This is a GREAT opportunity to ride an Olympic-qualifying race course 3 weeks before the race. Please RSVP to Anne for this ride at info@thebikelane.com.
Park info: http://www.more-mtb.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1215
We will meet at the parking lot by the boat ramp. After entering the park follow the signs to the boat ramp. The parking lot is at the bottom of the hill next to the lake. Also, there is a $3 entrance fee in to the park.
Saturday, April 14: Road Ride with Julie G.
Julie will lead a road ride around the Middleburg area. We're still looking at routes, but it will be 2-3 hours long. More detail as we have them!
Saturday, April 21, 10 am: Hillary Elgert Beginner MTB Clinic, sponsored by The Bicycle Fix
This clinic, led by Hillary Elgert (Bicycle Fix Pro DH competitor), is for someone who is pretty comfortable on the bike and has some experience riding off-road. We will cover things like small logs in the trail, negotiating rock gardens, cornering, and braking. It will be held in the Frederick Watershed (directions will be sent to registered participants). Clinic is limited to 15 women. You will need to bring your mountain bike, a helmet, and water. For more information email Liz or Hillary. RSPV required, please call the Bicycle Fix at 301-620-0306.
