Does anyone know if Wakefield and Accotink will be rideable this weekend? Thanks

I've ridden both this week without problems. The powerline side of Wakefield was in great shape. There was some swampiness in the lower parts of Accotink, but not too bad.

Both were great yesterday morning. Not sure of any rain last night, but there is some rain-a-comin' so you better get on your poney and go if you want to go today!

Is Wakefield ride-able yet? All that wind should have helped dry it out from the weekend.

I cut through Accotink when I ride my road bike out to the PPTC ride. I ran into one rider on the Carrleigh Parkway access trail and asked him how things were. He let me know that the high side trails are dry but the trails down low were still wet. His bike was pretty muddy too. My guess is if you did a ride at Accotink and stayed up by the tracks all would be well.
Of course you'd see how dry the trails were up high and out of curiosity would have to venture lower
Hopefully by tonight things should be vastly improved!
(Just in time for tomorrow's rain!)

I rode Accotink today and the trails were in good shape. This was my first ride in about three weeks and I was having a great time until I hit a branch that mangled my derailleur and derailleur hanger :( .
I had to bend everything back into place and single speed it back home...

Wakefield and Accotink are in pretty good shape. The salamander section of wakefield is pretty wet but other than that the trails are okay. There is one nasty tree down on phase I and another one down in the bowl..Accotink has some major wind damage, it looks like a tornado went through the area by the tracks known as the chili bowl, maybe 6 trees down in one tangled mess on the climb out. If you haven't seen it yet there was some sort of brush/forest fire on the hill above the marina. It's sort of interesting that the single track trail served as a natural fire break.

It didn't rain Thursday.
"Is it.... safe?"

It was safe on Thursday. Only a few puddles in the usual places, but Phases I, II, and III were near perfect. Bound to be even better now since Friday was nice and warm, not to mention this weekend being in the 80s should make a world of difference.

Yep! Wake is in great shape.
And the parking lots are packed w/riders and gamers.
The joint is jumpin.
Great day to be outside!

Accotink is in good shape as well. There was a cluster of blow downs (not rideable) along the perimeter trail along the railroad tracks.

The 4th EX2 BYB is at Wakefield Sun 4/22. Part of the course runs through Phase I and some of Phase II maybe, so be courteous to us runners if you ride in the AM!
