What a world of difference a day makes.
Here's the Skinny.
Accotink: Most trails were in GREAT shape. The trails closest to the marina in the flat area were a little muddy. In addition there are two small sections of trail that get real close to the rail road tracks that were still wet. The grade there makes a shady side slope and there is still snow melting from the high side. The new trail that we cut last year was wet but everything else felt great. Even Boy Scout was dry.
To Note: When dropping down onto Danbury Forest Drive. Stay on the asphalt. The bypass on the left was totally wet and muddy. Also, the stairs down into the basin are officially gone and the trail is closed. Continue straight on Danbury Forest and make a right onto the access trail.
And for some unknown reason the last 25 feet of the cinder trail before the underpass is completely a mud bog. There's a ride around on the left (Going into Wakefield)
Wakefield: Not as good but getting there. The back corner of the CCT is a mess crossing that stream. After that it’s tacky but rideable. Both Stream Valleys are good and Phase I is good (A few downed tree's though). The power line hill has been bush hogged and there is some debris on our banked turns but both were mostly dry.
AVOID PHASE II. It is NOT dry. Salamander is almost dry, but that big sweeping turn before you get into Phase I is a mess. 495 sucked in the normal sucky spots. The bowl was not as dry as I though it would be, but by tomorrow it should be OK.
For the Tuesday ride I suggest going into Accotink and then finishing with a stream valley and Phase I loop.
AVOID PHASE II........
