I've never ridden one, but I did see them on the lower end Specialized FSRxc bikes yesterday when I was in the shop.

Looks like it has rebound and compression damping (on the RC models) so it's at least got some adjustments. I'd say its good upgrade over some cheaper coil-over shocks on shorter travel bikes. Probably not the quite the same league as stuff from Fox, Cane Creek, etc.

All just speculation on my part.

Damping. That affects the compression and rebound speed of the shock.

Dampening is the act of making something wet.
