The part between soccer fields and fireroad (Hoyles Mill road?) was completely ridable. Only two small patches of semi-muddy area, one after the small stream crossing and one in the field between the two woods.

There is a downed tree on the trail right before the small stream crossing.

The fireroad, on the other hand, was wet so I turned around.

I walked a short section of the HMC (on the soccerplex end of the trail behind my neighborhood) on Sunday - it was wet and soft in a section of the trail that generally drains well. Lots of tire tracks in the mud and it was beginning to create ruts/berms.

PLEASE stay off wet/muddy trails - I know it's tempting but ultimately it just makes for muddier trails that stay wet longer because the ruts and berms (even very slight ones) hold water and don't let the trail dry out. The end result is more trail work required and ultimately the risk of lost access.

<< Ok - climbing back down from the soap box >>

Dust off the raod bike or get a set of slicks! :-)

Has anyone had trouble with the huge dog at the corner of Holyes Mill Rd and White Ground Rd, he roams and is brown in color? He always looks like he is having a bad day.

Anyone know his name?

I don't know his name but in all the times I've ridden past there he has never come out of his yard. Depending on his mood/energy level on any given day he may bark and run along the property line inside the trees - or just woof once and watch as you ride by.

I don't think I'd test his intentions by crossing the tree line to his side - but I no longer worry about him when I ride by there.

Thanks for the info... he might have an invisible fence ... let's hope :)
