You have to ride when it is frozen and it has to be early. I got started around 9:00 and everything was fine. However, as soon as the sun hits the trail it starts to melt and gets muddy. There is some snow and ice and the going gets hard in spots because the snow is pock marked with footprints. It is also really rutted from people riding when it is wet :( Accotink is a little better but still needs to be ridden when frozen. Parts of the CCT are sheets of ice.
