Fountainhead - Conditions? 1/27

Anyone know if Fountainhead will be rideable this weekend (1/27-1/28)? If not, any suggestions? Thanks for any help.

Rode it on saturday didnt do the whole loop but it needs some work. People riding when they shouldn't ruts in some sections but still ridable.

It's really a matter of getting out when it's been nice and cold. At least probably 25 for most of the evening, and getting out before it gets close to 30. Once the sun hits the trail, and it even approaches 32, the trails turn to a mud pit. With the moisture on the trails now and the temperatures, your best bet is frozen riding :D

The trail was frozen solid Sunday morning before the snow. No liquid mud anywhere. Temperature at ride time 27 degrees. I hadn't been there since the work day, and was a little shocked.

That said, when are the work days? It's gonna need some help in the spring, lots of it. I was sure I saw some days for 2007 somewhere on the site, but I can't find them now. I want to reserve them with my spouse and be sure to be there. If anyone knows where the work days for 2007 are listed on the site, please let me know. Same for Wakefield.

Any update on Fountainhead? I was thinking of heading out there this afternoon give a friend the tour.

Tons of people were out there on Sat and the parts I walked were shredded. Tires sinking over a foot in some places. Stay off unless it freezes again.

Yeah, the phone line said it was open so we drove out there this afternoon. There must have been 10 cars parked along the road w/ bike racks on them so I knew the trail was pretty busy. I chatted briefly with some guys that had just finished riding. They said the trails were pretty nasty and that the trail sign said that it was closed, so we decided to head home and bag it.
