Trails were great, with no mud. Lots of leaves on the beginning (upper Loch Raven/Merrimans Loop), but cleared out the farther in we rode.

Anyone know the story behind all the "patriotic" flags along the trail in one section is? Saw lots of red white and blue flags along the trail near the biggest mansions. Looks like it's being marked for construction, but that section of the trail doesn't appear to need any work.

Merryman's complete loop was in suprisingly good shape today - soft through some turns, but for the most part not bad & not muddy. The leaves on the less traveled side (NE) are deep in sections & if you don't know the trails well you could wander off a bit.

I don't know why the r,w,&b ribbons are there - they seem to mark the watershed boundry behind those houses.

Seminary has got to be a mess & should be given more time to dry.
