Over the past few months clockwork13 and i have been toying around with the idea of starting a youth division of MORE (13-19). After Clock has been discussing matters with the president and we finally got this set up. Jake is the almighty overlord of this forum but after many phone calls I cant reach him    Well I just thought Id get this forum rolling a bit and see who all is out there. If any of you adults know anybody who might be interested in this spread the word. Im recruting people at my school to get them started but i cant get to everybody.

Congrats to Almighty Overlord Clockwork13 to talking all the details out with James Corbet and I hope to see you guys out on rides soon!

ALL HAIL CLOCKWORK13

Red, thanks for the rather crude introduction ;) If you haven't noticed me on the forums before, my name is clockwork13 :) I am a cyclist of 3 years, enjoy Schaeffer, the Shed, and Fountainhead, and am a guzzler of the Kool Aid. I will expel every effort to spread the sweet gospel of mountain biking to the upcoming generation. Youth rides of all levels should begin within the month, and I look forward to meeting fellow enthusiasts!

Good luck, guys. It seems I'm always the "young guy" on most of the MORE rides I attend, and I'm 29. :)

Hey, I'm all for some rides with guys/girls my age. My stupid friend dan rides a girls bike, and its getting alittle old (sick burn!). I go to UMD, and will be home for the holidays trying my hand at fixed gear mountain biking. If anyone is interested in riding avalon/ loch raven or any other area place, drop me a line.

Fo sho, yo. At least I don't have a clown bike. (sicker burn!)

Anyway, I'm also up for Avalon/Loch Raven rides. Hopefully this forum gets some traffic. Seems like I never seen anyone my age out there.

I'd definitely be up for that! Once the under 18 waivers are set, girly bike or clown bike, either of you are welcome to lead an official TNT ride.

Hey clock, what do you think of having the first ride at sheaffer . That way there is something for everybody and its centrally located in the area. We could split up the groups based on skills and get a good ride in for everybody. Once we figure out what kind of skills these guys are made of then we can go more advanced places. Patapsco, gambrill and fountain head are a bit hilly from what i remember and probably arent the best place for beginners. They are fun but would be a bit too cardio for newcomers. Plus they would be out of the way for VA and Northern MD riders. If we start at sheaffer/hm there is something for everyone and its not too long a haul for people in VA or Northern maryland. Just my $0.02

im up for some rides. Schaefer would be pretty good as a start. I'm also willing to help guide some rides at the shed if thing we ever get more towards the DH side of things. Red, we should have another DC ride or ride 495 sometime(im still waiting for my new frame though)

I would be up for some rides, but I'm just starting my ski season, so I won't be able to do any weekend rides until march.

That would be cool. Ill have to talk to Clock to see if they will let us do more shuttle run style rides but if they do count me in.

My guess is that it wouldn't be a problem, although an adult sponsor might be necessary. Plus we would need a driver comfortable with driving on the sketchy mountain roads... Disregard the use of the word "we"; I'm not sure if I'm ready to ride shed dh on a full rigid :(

Looks like we have a good 6-7 people roll called. Yeah-yuh! (http://youtube.com/watch?v=W2PB1nG_FGI&mode=related&search=)

Hey all. I would really like to ride with you in the future. Unfortunately I broke my wrist last Saturday on the jump trail at Patapsco and I'll be out until spring. But I did start a cycling club at my school this year and I'll tell those guys about this forum and what not. Now for my profile...

Just remembered that I already had a MORE account... I guess I made this a year or two ago... Im Robusto on DCstreet. Im up for any of the rides, I'll probably just be kind of slow considering the only thing I have to ride right now weighs 40+ lbs. :D

I like to go down hills... not up. But I dont mind it. I try and dirtjump alot, but it seems like I build more than I ride.
