Well, there's no one who really gives me any presents worth more than maybe $10. And no one knows me well enough to know what I need and they probably assume I already have what I need, so, I don't expect anything bike related.

But! I'm really proud of myself. For one of the few times in my life I actually stopped to think before I hit the send button on an email and let my sense of humor get me in trouble AGAIN.

Our non-profit company collaborates with a govt contractor. One of them was hammering me to produce a ton of data in a very specific form in a really hurry. When I finally was able to complete the task, the guy was VERY thankful.

I responded, 'Just tell Santa that I want a Gary Fisher Rig 29" Single Speed for Christmas.' But then I realized BEFORE I hit the send button that it might have been mis-interpreted as me begging for a present from the contractor which was NOT what I'd meant. I hope the sun continues to rise every morning. I'm not sure when THAT ever happens again that I don't stick my keyboard in my mouth without thinking again! :o

I'm not too sure, but the wife was questioning me about what sizes I wear for jerseys and stuff, so Mrs. Santa might be getting me some new gear!

My frame builder is planning to ship my frame out on the 20 December. Almost zero chance of getting it by the 24th though. I tried to con my wife into letting me kick in for over-night shipping but she shot me down. Nevertheless, I still consider it a Christmas gift because my wife sure as hell ain't getting me anything else. lol.

I also have a december birthday so I used that plus christmas to justify buying the parts I need to complete the build.

Hah! I picked up a merino wool turtleneck at target last night....$11.99. Ugly as hell but functional for some cool-temp riding.

I was asked, and I responded money :)

I wil most likely get gift cards, which is what I want. As for my fiance, we already exchanged gifts. I got a tow hitch with a nice bike rack to accompany it :) She got a Garmin Forerunner 305 with all the attachments. I think I short changed her on value, so I will get her an ipod as well.

I doubt I'll get any bike stuff. The only thing I want now is a Ti SS, but I want to do some research first, so it's not gonna happen soon.

I asked myself for, and expect to receive (funny how that works, ain't it?), a Cross Check frame.

I've been eying those frames. Is it wrong to be thinking about building up another bike while still waiting on the one you ordered 4 months ago? I'm thinking either a cross frame or a used road bike off craigslist. Need something other than my new 29er to abuse on pavement.

Funny you should mention that, seeing as once I get the CC built up, I'll have a 55cm cross frame lying around. I'm just sayin'...

I have already received a copy of Off Road to Athens. I am hoping for a pair of Lake MTB boots from Santa on Christmas Morning. I am also kinda hoping for winter temperatures to arrive so I can use some of the warm thermal and wool goodies I have purchased.

Hey, you can always buy yourself a Christmas present, and that Rig 29 sounds ideal. I can tell you from experiece that buying yourself a Christmas present is not a bad idea, especially if you don't have to buy too many for other people. Go an get it! I want to see you riding it next ride!

... I know, I am terrible. If I can't buy more bike stuff I encourage others to do so.

I have been wanting a comfort bike to use on family bike rides when my mountain bike just won't do. I put it on my list and kept dropping hints like "tell the salesman [this or that]" and "there's a bike shop right next to [that store]". I really didn't think anything would come of it...

I was shocked to discover I'd received a gift certificate from REI. So I did get a comfort bike.
