I have a rare opportunity to ride on a weekday (wait, the opportunity to ride anytime is rare for me), as in tuesday the 14th. Wife1 is picking up Kids 1 & 2 from daycare, and if the weather holds out, I'm considering (strongly) leaving work noon-ish to ride (very casual) Schaeffer, Seneca Greenway, or Little Bennett (unless I missed the 14th as a park closed for hunters day).
Hopefully it won't rain too much on Sunday.
Anyone care to join me?

If trails in MoCo aren't fit, think you might be willing to venture up this way?
no other takers??

In case any interested peeps had better things to do this weekend than power on a computer, Brizn & I plan a 2 hour-ish gambrill ride tomorrow afternoon, around 1pm. let us know if you have interest.

yo man- this was a great ride. I'm stoked that you got your first Gambrillificationization on-- and you rode it propa-like for someone who, to date, had only ridden dirt trails! Ups. I think I counted 3 bails.. the last of which was.. just... oh yea, SPECTACULAR. And propa-like to that Bucket for sparing you a lifetime of drooling all over yourself!
Let's ride again.
Happy tiiiiimes.

agreed, great ride. Great meeting you. much thanks for the guide and the kind words o' encouragement. I think it was 4 bails, there was "my rock", the "took the wrong foot off the pedal" rock climb, the "tap dancin' log hop" lesson (that's really gonna leave a mark!!), and my Trek lid's perfect 10 landing on the "spectacular" crash. I did better than I thought I would, especially given some of the words in the forum about gambrill. Word to noobs who haven't done gambrill, do it. Its funnerNallGITout! I consider myself a beginner (although I just decided to promote myself from beginner to beginner2 :D ) and I think I did ok, even with my feeble climbing skills. It's definitely a challenge, but well worth the effort.
As for droolin' on myself, I already do that.
will definitely ride again.

[1]...especially given some of the words in the forum about gambrill. ... [2] I consider myself a beginner (although I just decided to promote myself from beginner to beginner2 :D ) and [3] I think I did ok, 1. Yea, some people get off on describing trails. I just like to ride 'em. 2. I wouldn't consider you a beginner. Typically, G-ride isn't very beginner-friendly. You (practically) cleaned the first hill out of the lot..and if you would've been able to actually see the trail you would've cleaned that first super-tech dh section-- a dh that beginners probably puke at the site of. and 3. see #2.
To quote Saxman (who is by no means a beginner) on his first G-ride:
"Toto, we're not at Schaeffer anymore".
