Just trying to get people together to ride this wednesday either at Loch Raven or Patapsco around 11 or 12. Let me know what time people prefer because I am very flexible. I have the day off so want to get a day ride in while the weather is holding up. The pace will be casual. I don't know Patapsco too well so it would be nice to ride with people who knows the area better then me.

how long did you want to ride for? i am usually at patapsco wednesday around 10 and ride til 1, but i can ride at 11 until 1 or so because i have to be back at umbc for my class. i know the trails fairly well, but also have a map just in case.

Hi Johana,
I ride the merrymans section of LR at lunch once or twice a week, so I'll be out there on wednesday - 12 to 1/1:30 + or -. I can get away with a longer ride.
We're riding nights there at least once a week as well (seminary or merrymans). Haven't settled on a night yet, but wed seems to work well.

Thanks August and Rmac for responding to my post. I wouldn't mind riding either place but just want to clarify with you that it will be casual. I do well on down hills and flat sections but up hill sections I struggle on. Is the Loch Raven loop you do very much hills or is it more rolling hills? Would you be meeting at the church to ride?
August where do you normally ride at Patapsco? I have ridden there now twice and there is a decent amount of hills you have to ride up for my skill level. I can do the more gradual/long hills but very slow at doing them. I am planning to ride 2-3 hrs because I need to take breaks every once in a while especially after riding hills. I just want to make sure you understand I might slow you down. If you like to ride fast especially up hill then I probably won't be too much fun with you. Let me know.

I usually start at the trail head off rolling road, across from the 195 park and ride. I don't mind riding a slower pace and taking breaks. It looks like it's supposed to rain this tuesday and wednesday so i don't know if we are gonna be able to ride because patapsco usually takes a few days to dry out. We'll have to play it by ear.

Sounds good. Rmac would Loch Raven be rideable if it rains a little bit on tuesday? Just wondering because I really want to try and find a local place to ride wednesday that won't rip up the trail if it rains a little bit. I know patapsco is really bad about drying out after it rains. Every time I have ridden there it has been quite a while after rain and there still is a decent amount of areas that are still muddy. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

I was hoping it wouldn't rain all day but it finally did once I got done with work. I knew Patapsco was totally a no go after seeing it rain. Good luck with studying.

merrymans is the section further north. Seminary will be too wet & muddy. I'll go in off of warren rd at poplar hill.

Wed was a wash out. Post or pm if you want to try again sometime. I get out to LR regularly between 12-1 +/-. I'm sure we'll be out there on Sat AM, looks like it's going to be a great w/end.
