I'll post here rather than pollute the womens forum, since I'm not, you know, a woman...
I'm still in need of a casual-pace leader, if anyone is interested. I can provide a good route, if you need one.I would offer to help, but 1: I'm not technically a woman, and 2: I don't want to get cooties.
Of course, I could be bribed with, say, a pink RLAG hat? ;)

Well, would you care to lead a Dude Ride at the same time, same place? Some of the RLAG riders bring significant others.... it would be much appreciated. And it'd get you the hat!

I'll do the Casual dudes ride.. as long as Ricky is not there *jokes*........ This is of course assuming I get pedals by then.. or hell, if you find the pieces of my spd's I left behind somewhere on the trail there even better :D

Piece of cake to switch out.
If any of the speed demon guys (I'm looking at you, Drevil and JoeP ;) )show up, they can either go slow with me or one of them can volunteer to lead a faster ride. I'll be taking it easy no matter what.

I'll probably be trying out my Surly 1x1 at Schaeffer and might as well join you. Unlike most SS riders, I'll be slow.
BTW, what gear ratio is good for Schaeffer? I ride 32x20 on my geared bike, and like to try out 32x18 on the SS.

I'm looking forward to this ride. I'll finally see Schaeffer in the daylight (all I've done so far are the night rides). :)

I agree - I'm no SS guru / zealot, but my 26" SS has a 32x18, and it's a decent all-around gear. Won't kill you on climbs, though it will make you wish you had more on the flats. And on the downhills, well, just coast and enjoy the ride. :D

Like others have mentioned, give that gear ratio a shot. I run the equivalent of that now on my 29er, but I spin a lot.
