Hi, I am wondering if there is a ride schedule for this weekend/MORE at Douthat? I looked at the Memorial Day schedule (http://www.more-mtb.org/forum/showthread.php?t=3620&highlight=memorial+camp+ride), but guess this one will be quite different.

I am coming from DC way early Saturday morning, and wondering if I'll make a group ride if I get there by 9:30/10 a.m. Thanks!!

Douthat is very informal as far as the rides go. Usually saturday morning is all about breakfast and splitting up into groups leaving anywhere from 10 or after. I've heard announcements of rides leaving before that, but never have seen one go.

Anyway, if you can get there 9 or 9:30, i'd say you will be in good shape finding a ride.

glad someone asked the question already. I've been too busy today to ask it myself. Glad it looks like nothing really leaves til after 10:00. That means I don't have to worry about getting enough sleep. takes me a while to get motived in the mornings.

Most rides will not depart before 10:30am on Sat. Even later on Sunday. If you are coming down on Sat morning plan on getting there before 10:15 so you can be included into the MORE Group Photo.

PS There may be a few openings if someone still wants to go. We have had a few cancellations in the last few days. Contact me at mtbmore@comcast.net if interested.

I have Volunteered to be a ride leader at douthat. I will be happy to lead a late departing group ride for beginner and slower intermediate riders on Saturday. Is night riding allowed? should we bring Lights? Scud, Can we ride Friday night? or saturday night? Penny and I will be arriving Late thursday night. I can ride friday daytime and maybe help you get the kitchen site set up. Dave Marchyshyn. 301-509-3191

I can also lead a ride that leaves a little later than the others if there is interest. I did this ride about a month ago and it worked out real nice, basically Laurel View to Locust Gap, down Stony Run, across the road to Brushy Hollow, to Mountain Side, to Ross Camp Hollow to the campground. This loop took me and a novice rider about 4 hours at a casual pace and the only tough part was climbing up Brushy Hollow, not rocky, just steep sections. I like to ride fast but will always wait at any trail crossing to make sure everyone is with the group. If there is any interest in this, let me know. I will be leaving from Reston Friday afternoon to go to Charlottesville for the Trey Anastasio Band show that night and have room for 1 passenger. Tickets to the show are still available and I will be staying at a friends house in Cville Frday night, if anyone is interested, let me know.

I will be there Thursday night staying in a cabin for one night. Night riding is allowed and encouraged. I will be setting up the kitchen mid morning on Friday.
