As suggested by many, this forum was put in place to help organize group rides.

Check here for updates on our regularly scheduled weekly rides as well as our other upcoming scheduled rides. This is also the place to post up when trying to throw together last minute rides, post ride reports and so on.

Also please don't forget to email ride-coordinator@more-mtb.org when planning your ride so it can be listed on the calendar. I'll try and check back here often for new rides but may miss something if it's not emailed to me as per the standard process.

Thanks!

Is there anyway to move this forum closer to the top of the list instead of below trail condition listins? Might be hard for people to find, especially since it's new.

Hey Martin - Would it be a good idea to clean out the Night Ride Stickies?

Maybe like every 30 days or messages over 30 days old.

I had the idea that each month maybe the Sticky could rotate out (Back into the PIT or non Sticky area) and a New Sticky would form. The titles might reflect this:

Sticky: October 2006:: Wakefield Monday Night Ride

I realize if this couldn't be automated it would be a hassle, but with hundreds of posts in each one, the possibility of actually finding something useful in a past post diminishes with each new post.

A so called friend of mine (we’ll call him ByRon Chunkinson ((Not his real name))) suggested that “I” had ruined the Thursday Night ride sticky with constant posts and updates. That what had started as a useful forum had degraded into something less. All I could say was “MOI?”

Anyway! If this is a lousy idea - Just ignore me (Ask Joe P - I'm getting use to it)

Done. It's not that big a deal doing the rotating. However I may need reminding to get it done at the end of the month...

It's November - Time to CLEAN out the Stickies!

If possible could you release the October Stickies back into the main posting area and create:

November 2006::Wakefield Monday Night Ride
November 2006::Wakefield Tuesday Night Ride
November 2006::Wakefield Thursday Night Ride

For Shaeffer:

..I will start a new thread for the next (hopefully couple) night ride(s). Also, I 'll just title it "Schaeffer Night Ride" and not put a date. This way the old thread can go the way of president Bush's approval rating :eek:

T

SO - If I understand this correctly, Shaeffer will not need a Sticky until the regular rides start up again next Spring/Summer.

That really is a question for Bob and David. They are the main leaders for the "regular" Thursday rides. I'm the one responsible for the night rides. However, it is my opinion that we will not need a sticky until next season. We may need a sticky for "Thursdays at DFH" though. :D

Thanks,

I live in DC and only have metro access for a means of transportation. Outside of Fort Du Pont, is it possible to find out which other trails are metro-acessible?

Well, you do have your bike.... :o If you check the where to ride page, a lot of the parks have addresses. You can use the dcmetro website to plan your route and see how far it is from the closest stop.

Don't forget, no bikes Mon-Fri at certain times to accomodate rush hour. But, you could always take buses. You can put your ride on the front of most Metro buses.

Good luck with this though.
