I realize this won't be too helpful, but Wes and I rode there Saturday morning before the big rain. There was one BIG tree down on the opening loop. It's on the rutted downhill just after the bridge with one sided railing. We also stopped and removed one deadfall and took down one widow maker. (Where I lost my sunglasses with the yellow lenses).

"Open/Close Schedule: Although the Park is closed from mid-November until mid-March, the mountain bike trail is open year round. Just park outside the gate and ride to the trailhead. Otherwise, the trail is only open dawn to dark. The park authority will close the trail during and after rain to protect the trail. Please observe all trail closings. Failure to do so may result in everyone loosing access to these trails. Information regarding trail closure due to adverse conditions is available from the park at (703) 250-2473."
look under 'where to ride' from the main page and you will find additional information about the park
Same forum have the most used local parks/trails and similar info

I would say that, even if the park is technically open, the trails are not going to be in good riding condition. With all the rain we have had, I think FH needs a couple of dry and windy days, or dry and hot days, or just plain dry days, prior to being ridable.

Yup. I was there Saturday morning and while it wasn't swampy, it was a bit wetter than I'd like. Given the amount of rain we've had this week, it's probably pretty sloppy.

I was out there yesterday afternoon and it was mostly dry. There were a few spots of gumbo in the low spots between descents/ascents that haven't dried yet, but no standing water. The rest of the trail was bone dry.

Yup. Between the leaves, the nice weather, and the background noise of rowing crews practicing on the lake, it was kinda picturesque.
