I was wondering about everyone's experience with sunglasses with interchangeable lenses.

I use mine every day on the commute and have found them invaluable. I was using Smith Mainlines, but lost them somewheres. I was going to just buy another set of frames as I still have some lenses left, but I thought I'd get some people's opinions as this may be an opportunity to upgrade. Don't get me wrong, I used the Smiths for 3 years and they worked great, just looking for other ideas. Before getting the Smiths, I considered the Briko Blasts as well, but never tried any on.

The Smiths:
Good: Relatively cheap frames and lenses, bombproof...
Bad: The lenses got scratched over time from insertion/removal (sorta the nature of the beast I guess), Sweat would still roll down behind them (I noticed the Brikos had a sweatband), the Smiths would fog up some at stoplights/when stopped. They're sorta goofy looking off the bike, but I have a set of Arnettes for that - looks to me aren't as much of an issue as is performance/features.

Oh, and I have a relatively large head, so that's a consideration. (I can see the comments now... :D)

Let me know what you guys got.

I use the Oakley Half Jackets (not the XLJ model) for golf. I love Oakleys, have several pairs of different models and they make high quality stuff that even I cant beat the snot out of. This particular model the lenses are tough to change though you get the hang of it eventually. I guess thats the point though or else theyd be falling out all over the place. You can buy dozens of different lenses.

Good pair of shades though and decen price - $140 on sale with 3 lenses.

I have the Mainlines as well, as a matter of fact, I have three pairs. I bought two one ebay, and my first set was a gift from my wife. They were replaced by Smith after my puppy decided to taste them! I have noticed the fog issue when stopped, but 2-3 seconds after starting again they are fine. I like the airflow that does that. I use them for biking, skiing when I don't want to use goggles and my brother uses his for boating with the polarized lenses. I even have the clear lens for when I finally get off my A$$ and start night riding.

I've got Smith Voodoo Sliders. Same deal as your Mainlines - fog up at stops, scratches, etc. - but they's made for pinheads like me, so I like them.

The only thing I don't like is the lack of a prescription lens option for the sliders (I don't think I'd like inserts). Because of that, when the time comes I'll probably get a pair of Rudy's.

I started using Tifosi Kilo's a couple months ago. Obviously haven't had them long enough to speak to durability, but the quality is very good for the money (~$50 retail). Most of the Tifosi's have nosepieces where the nose-pads are mounted in little wire brackets. It's hard to explain, but essentially it means that the fit is super-adjustable and the glasses stand off my face just enough to not fog up or get sweated on as badly as others. I have a pretty wide head too and the Kilo's fit me great.

I'm a big fan of Oakley's M frames for ridiing. I use a normal tinted lense, what they call the persimon for lower lighting and a clear set for everything else. I've tried other stuff but I just really like the optics as well as the feel of the Oakleys.

I use a pair of Half Jackets as my normal non riding shades as well which I also really like.
