Rumor has it that the jump is not to be available to Intro or Ametuer racers, only pros. That being said the go around is supposed to be only 2-3 seconds slower then cleanly landing the jump.

She sure is fast for a 'retired' racer isn't she? Hasn't she won the woman's elite class in every Snowshoe race this year? Could it be the triumphant return of the Missy "the Missile" Giove? :cool:

I'm psyched to know she's out riding in our area. I thought I started downhilling too late to ever see her ride.

Apparently she's living in the Virginia Beach/Newport News area. And yes she's won all the women's expert races at Snowshoe this year. I saw her hit the gap jump and she pulled it off smooth as all the guys.

If they ever do open that gap to more inexpierenced riders, they're gonna have to add much more of a lip to that takeoff. You have to bunnhopy like mad (at least in the video it looks like it) -before the takeoff. Still, it looks like a very fun gap, I wish we had something like that around here!

They added a lip extension to the end of the ramp. The video was taken before they realized that it was needed.

From what I saw in person, and what I was told by people who actually hit it, it definitely needed the lip but it was also, as a result, pretty easy to hit and mostly a mindgame coming into it.
