Alright... Who's in for some more Shed Shuttling next weekend? I think my schedule is open for either day, and probably any time, so let's try to get a good sized group together.

Here's a little video (courtesy of Ridemonkey) to get everyone in the mood...

I might be heading to Wintergreen this weekend. I not, I might be up for the shed.

Ah, I forgot that was this weekend. Wish I could make it out there. I've only been to Snowshoe once, but loved every minute of it.

I guess we should probably postpone the Shed until the following weekend.

Having never done shuttle runs how do they work. Is there one driver or does everyone take turns? Also would they be doable on a singlespeed jump bike?.

So everyone loads up their own vehicle or is there one guy who shuttles everyone in his/her car/truck? Or does everyone take turns driving everyone else to the top?

So everyone loads up their own vehicle or is there one guy who shuttles everyone in his/her car/truck? Or does everyone take turns driving everyone else to the top?Yes, yes, and yes :D Let's say you have 4 people and 4 vehicles-- each car, ideally, should be able to carry 4 bikes/riders. Everyone meets at the bottom with all their vehicles. 3 vehicles are left at the bottom while one driver hauls everyone and their gear to the top. Ride down, then the next driver hauls everyone and their gear to the top, Ride down, then the next (last) driver hauls everyone and their gear to the top, and with the final vehicle you need to haul everyone around to THEIR vehicles so you can reset the whole gig....

...or some permutation of the above.

EDIT: would be a good "word problem" for your math class!

OK so everyone rides every run. I would be worried that since i dont have a licence then i would be freeloading and then would have to feel guilty.

Pirate: Id love to go on the next shuttle run ride you guys do as long as its not uber hard core and its on a weekend.

Edit: Brian my math teacher is so dumb she wouldnt be able to figure the answer out

Bring snacks to share. Everybody likes cookies. Or containers of gatoraid. Just some token of appreciation. That way you won't feel like a chump and everybody will think you are extra cool.

The other alternative to those listed is that one vehicle goes back and forth and you rotate drivers each run. Typically the owner of this vehicle would have some money or beer or something given to him / her to cover gas and vehicular wear and tear. This tends to be a better way to go if you want to do a lot of runs because there is no need to ever 'reset' the vehicles at the bottom. Ride, load up, repeat until it's too dark to ride.

So, do you guys want to head out this weekend? If we do the drop trails, we don't really even need to shuttle. You can just ride back up to the trailhead and then push your bike to the top.
