Your question is a common one in Maryland. Maryland DNR does not allow activities in State Parks after dark without prior approval. MORE has in the past ridden at Cedarville, Schaeffer (last night) and Gambrill State Park with basically a special use permit good for one night. Mike Klasmeier mike@citybikes.com is the Trail Liaison for Avalon and Patapsco. work with him to see if you can schedule a night ride at Patapsco. The hardest part is committing to a particular day and getting people to sign up ahead time bith requirements of DNR. We have attempted to get a more blanket approval in Fairfax County for night riding. That request is still in the early stages. If someone in Maryland would like to take the lead in proposing that same plan for DNR we are all for it. Contact myself or Eric Voneckrtsberg if interested.

I ride McKeldin several times a week and would be interested in night rides as well. I don't really have time to lead anything but how much interest do we have here?

I would be willing to try and organize something if thats what it takes. I need my evening rides. Waiting to hear from the park ranger next week and I will go from there..
