Just ordered my new frame and fork. After much turmoil I got a Versus Blitz II (http://www.versuscycles.com/images/Blitz-Main.jpg) with a Vanilla RLC 2007 fork. More bike than I need but I will enjoy the big drop or two. Herb at Versus was great to discuss the details with. I talked with Versus, Yeti, Santa Cruz, and Turner (kind of) but Versus provided the most feedback on my questions.

Yesssss. You gonna take that thing off any sweet jumps???

Sorry. Couldn't help myself. ;)

But seriously folks...

I hadn't heard of Versus before. Looks like it is plenty beefy. Should do you well. What components are you going to use to build it out??

Congrats on the new ride.

Cool looking frame. I think the Terminator would ride that frame. If he rode a bike.

They look great! I have to say I'm pretty ig'nit about a lot of the big hit bikes out there. It isn't that I'm not interested or jazzed by the technology and build-up of them. There's just a limited amount of stuff that fits in my brain and when something new comes in, something old seems to get pushed out. ;)

I looked them up on the Eenternet and I'm pretty impressed. Looks very cool.

I went with the 32 Vanilla. The frame is heavier than I wished but my test case was a frame that could handle a 4 foot drop to flat concrete. Hardly an extreme but pushes the selection to the beefier side of the All Mountain category.

Thats probably comparable to taking your bike off of a 15 foot drop to a nice soft steep tranny. U need a beefy frame to handle that.
