FYI...
I hit Wakefield on the way in to work this morning and trail conditions were awesome. Just tacky enough with dew that the dirt formed that 'glue' that lets your tires hook up like mad and you can turn on rails.
A few wet spots, but hey, it's Wakefield, it will have some spots that are wet for another month even without rain....!
With weather calling for 80 degrees today - come this evening things should be pretty damn sweet....Thursday night riders should have a good time....
Maybe I need to leave work early............................

Wakefiled is good today, despite a spot of rain last night.
I rode the creek valley and with the exception of a few mud puddles, trail was clear/dry. Phase I and the Powerlines were clear/dry too save the bogs in the usual spots.
I should think after a dry day today, this evening will be really nice.
Someone please tell me if this is 'ok' to ride or not. I figure the trail is dry, that's good, there's the few big muddy spots, but those will be there for a week, so that's ok. I always go straight through the bogs to avoid widening the trail, so I figure that's alright - who cares about mud on you?
Let me know if I'm in the wrong here. I don't want to be riding out there if I shouldn't.

I rode through Wakefield on the way home from work today and in my opinion it still looks to be a little off limits. Just doesn't seem to be drying out well.
I rode the Accotink side yesterday evening and with the exception of alot of debris, trails were fairing pretty well.
Just thought I'd give anyone looking to ride this weekend the heads up.

I just rode the WaW race course and the Bowl, and both were in pretty good shape. The surface is just on the slightly loose side of perfect. With another day like today, conditions should be ideal. The WaW start area on the gravel road was pretty wet. The singletrack was in good shape.
The sections along the creek (not the creek trail, but the trail that crosses the open area from the end of the bermed turns) showed some signs of water retention, so I didn't go anywhere near the Creek Trail. I'd imagine it's pretty bad.
Thanks a million to the crew that built the new trail at Accotink (http://www.more-mtb.org/forum/showthread.php?t=5156) . I didn't get a look at it, but they still get a bunch of gratitude.

I know, dumb question considering the wee storm that passed through yesterday, but how do you all suppose the trails are this afternoon?

Wake o Tink was wet but rideable this morning. Lots of puddles and wet spots on the routes between Wake and Tink and some sloppy/wet spots throughout Wake. Completely rideable, just ride smart.
