Alright, I have to post this before I change my mind. I'm selling my first real mtb. Its only been ridden maybe a dozen times in the last two years. And since I never ride it (I have 2 other mtb's I ride regularly), its just taking up space in my little studio apt, and I could really use the money for a new fork and crankset for my single speed.

This bike would make a great loaner/spare/commuter. Heck, it would even make a great primary bike. It handles single track well and yet is forgiving of rider error. It was my primary bike for 3 years (98-00) and is built of mostly 97-98 LX/XT components.

It is in great shape, was just tuned up, and the frame was repainted this winter. The 8 speed XT rear derailleur, middle ring, and all of the cables are almost brand new. Nothing is worn out and it is ready to ride. It's been maintained regularly since I've owned it and has never been left outside.

At no additional charge I'll swap out the rigid fork for a 98 Mantiou Spyder R w/ new elastomers. Just let me know which fork you want.
