Hi All, I was tooling out and about Wakefield today and even with all this hot weather it is suprising that conditions remain a bit on the the muddy side.

Normally you know things aren't well when the Accotink/Wakefield Connector trail is on the damp side!

The way it is looking it'll take a couple of weeks of straight sun for the park to dry out- I hope to tool around Accotink Tuesday if it doesn't rain.

We held the Thursday night ride at Wakefield/Accotink last night for the first time in a month. Conditions were good- not great, but good.

Wakefield is mostly dry. Some of the low wooded area still have standing water and mud, but the northern stream valley trail is fine. The southern part of the stream valley trail has a couple soft spots, but should firm up today. The Bowl section (the area to the right as you enter the park) is good.

Accotink is in good condtion, but there are still some wet areas along the cinder trail leading to Accotink.

Oy.

Just curious if anyone's ridden Wakefield since Isabel came through. Should this Tuesday's beginners' ride be converted to a Beginners' hike?

Thanks for the info.

Took a spin around wakefield this evening before the rains. Saw lots of debris on the trails from the storm. Mostly leaves and small branches but also several large trees downed which will be great for ramps (and bypasses). I lost the trail a couple of times because of all the debris covering it up. Looks like lots of work for the next workday, so I'd like to encourage everyone to come out and stay for the picnic afterwards!

Did anyone get to wakefield yesterday? I would like to go today if it has dried out a bit.

I was there yesterday evening and the bowl is in good shape. No worse than it's ever been this summer. I didn't get over to the creek side though so I can't speak for that. Oh, and if you're over at the bowl and up on the left side, watch out for a low lying branch- I got clotheslined. Luckily, I was going pretty slow :o

Have fun!
