Please understand that the Rangers are not mountain bikers. They close the trail as a courtesy to MORE. Life would be much easier for them if they just left the trail open all the time. That wouldn't be good for those of us who do trail maintenance. They do the best they can in evaluating the conditions and making their decision. Further, since there are several Rangers who make the decision, you may note some inconsistency in the decision process. It is, nevertheless, their decision. Please respect their decision.

If you feel that their decision needs to be reevaluated, please don't hassle the Park Staff. Feel free to contact your friendly Fountainhead Liaison. If you can convince me that the trail really should be opened/closed, I'll be happy to accomplish the necessary liaison.
