What's up guys,
I'm pretty new to MORE. I joined about 3 months ago and I haven't been able to catch up with any of the other riders yet, but I will be at the picnic this weekend.
I'm looking forward to meeting other MORE members.

I work at the XM Satellite Radio headquarters in D.C. and every year XM does a special thing for the friends and families of XM employees. I thought I would pass on the deal to any of you guys if you want it. I don't see a dime and I will not be making any kind of profit.

The radios are discounted as much as 150 bucks with one of them even being free.

If any of you are interested just go to this website

http://friends.xmradio.com

and input my email address as your sponsor

sean.pearce@xmradio.com

again, I do not see a dime other then my meager stack of XM stock going up in value a fraction of a fraction of a cent.

I hope you guys enjoy XM as much as I do.

Wow, this is a great deal, I've had XM for 2 years now and we want a third unit for our new car.

Do you know if the XM commander uses a fm modulator or does it plug in into the radio antenna line?

I don't think the commander has an FM modulator built in like the skyfi 2 or the portable myfi's. It's a little bit on the older end of our technology. I personally have a MyFi and I couldn't be happier with it. It works great when I'm on my bike. If there isn't to much tree cover I can listen to the live broadcast, but if there is a good bit of tree around me I can still listen to 5 hours of recorded music.

I've had XM for so long that I can't even stand to listen to real radio anymore. It's pointless.

I hope you keep enjoying XM.

Thanks for the info...and 100 bucks for a MyFi is half off their sale price, I might beg for that one.

Things I love about XM:
- Always something new to hear, very few repeats like 104.1 and 101.1
- Punk rock channel (Fungus) HillBilly Hell every night at 6.
- Ron and Fez on 202, I used to listen every night on Wjfk.
- XM online, when it works, is great- listen inside the house or at work.

After Howard signs off later this year, I don't think I'll listen to "free FM" at all.

Thanks for the info. If I want to purchase a SkyFi 2 as a gift for someone through this promotion, how do I go about having the account and billing switched over to my friend after the required 3 mos. are up?

I did the same thing last christmas and bought radios for all of my friends and family. After the three months you can have your friend call the listener care center and switch over the account. It really is not a problem to do.

I've gotten to see a ton of shows like coldplay, the wu tang clan, ani difranco, nickel creek, and fear factory just to name a few.

Awesome! Sean, thanks for hooking us up.

Quick question - last year I took advantage of this, but was told by various XM employees that these days all orders through the friends and family program are verified to the email address used. In otherwords, if someone uses your email, orders stuff, then the XM sales folks email you to verify that they are a friend or family member of yours - if not, then the person gets charged the full MSRP for the unit?

I have not heard anything to that effect. I know for a fact that when people buy radios on my email address I do not receive any kind of confirmation. XM is all about subscriptions right now to the point that we are giving away radios. I will verify any and all orders so don't worry about it.

Another thanks for posting this up. Your stock should rise $.00001, two more subscribers. For MTB content, should make trips to the trail all that much better :)

Can I add the radio I buy from this promotion to an existing XM account and get the discounted family subscription rate for a second radio? I already have a Skyfi in my car, but want to get another one for my wife...

These deals are amazing... Thanks!

As far as I know, and I could be wrong, after the initial 3 months that you have to pay for upfront you can switch the radio over to a family plan at a discounted rate. However comma if you cancel the subscription before 6 months have passed you will be charged the full price of the radio. Don't quote me on that as I just watch satellite feeds and these promotional decisions are made down in the dark dank nether regions of the D.C. headquarters.

I'm pretty sure that all of that stuff is covered in the service agreement.

I'm running an older version - that's probably what's going on.

Lucky you all. I can't do SQUAT on there on my mac any more. Can't even manage my account online.

Firefox works fine for me. As for the mac problem I really can't help you. As far as I know it should work. Sorry.

I was just looking at the site today and it looks like they have put more of the free radios in stock. I just picked up two of them myself. They work great.
Have fun.
