Having recently bought a FS rig, I am now under strict orders to get rid of at least one bike as a condition of being allowed to get the new one.
Here is what I've got:
1994 era Performance M404. This was about a $400 bike when new. It has a CrMo double-butted steel frame. Derailleurs are original Shimano 7-speed (not sure exactly what model) and are still in excellent working order. The bike was upgraded about 3-4 years ago with V-brakes and a RockShocks Indy XC suspension fork to replace the original rigid fork. I think the frame is a 21" -- by any measure it is a large (I'm 6'-2") and it was great for me.
This has been a great ride and I hate to see it go but if I don't the wife is liable to give away the new Ellsworth and that would hurt way too much! I have used this bike over the last couple of years to get at least 3 of my friends hooked on mountain biking. This would be a great first ride for someone new to the sport and on a tight budget or just not looking to spend much money until they were sure what they wanted. Alternatively I could throw in a pair of slicks I never use and it would be a fine commuter ride as well.
I have no idea what it should be worth so someone make me a reasonable offer and it's yours. I figure I'll try selling it through these lists first before I resort to ebay.
