Ft. Dupont

I moved to DC about a year ago from SF and finally ponyed up for a new bike. I decided to check out Ft. Dupont this weekend. It has some really great single track but I was amazed at how neglected the trails seemed. As I am sure you guys know, you take quite a beating from all the head high overgrowth spilling onto the trail and there are a number of downed trees lying across the trail.

Is this b/c Ft. Dupont is primarily a hikers area or is it just a neglected park? Has it always been in this condition?

Ft Dupont is a park that MORE has agreed to help maintain. There is a lot of history behind Ft Dupont that will not fit in this reply. Brian Poochigian is MORE's Trail Liaison for Ft Dupont.
