Ok, I admit it, I love my beat to hell, 2001 Lefty ELO significantly more than my super-cool and insanely expensive Lefty Terralogic on the "other bike". Why? I'm on my SS 99% of the time and nothing I've ever found locks out better or faster than the ELO- no reaching, no fumbling, just a press of the thumb (mechanical? bah!). I lock out any time I'm out of the saddle, sometimes hundreds of times during a ride. Sure it has crap damping and almost no adjustablity but I really don't care, it gets the job done. It's also been the most durable "fork" I've ever had with literally 12,236 miles on it without a rebuild (OK about 10 batteries).

Now, sadly, ol' bess may be on her way out- we seem to be leaking air, have worn pin bearings, a decidedly metal on metal squeak. Can these old lefties be rebuilt? By whom? Is their a newer ELO that actually has modern innards and a damping adjustment? I see C'dale team riders with dual ELO controls but I haven't seen it on a consumer bike in years.
