Whats with all the horse crap all over the trails at Difficult Run? If my dog crapped on the trails people would be up in arms. maybe the equestrian owners should carry little (or big) plastic bags and remove the crap. Or they should at least carry a small shovel or something and clear the trail. Can anything be done about this?

Careful dude, we don't want to piss off random equestrian user groups who may be viewing this forum. Thanks to tasteless posting of an offensive picture from that one douche-bag, lord knows how much crap (pun intended) that whole "beat a dead horse" fiasco got. :nope:

Lake FFX/Difficult Run and the CCT was in great shape today. Managed a 15+ mile group ride (don't worry, it wasn't MORE-sponsored so no liability), capped with a nice meal at Pizzahut before the rains came.

Bunny-hop practice. Get good at them or get covered in crap. ;)

HMMM, not sure what happened, but it is a little ridiculous in my opinion. I just think its rude, thats all, especially because I go out of my way to dismount my bike when approaching joggers, people walking or those with dogs, etc, and to say hi, good morning, and so forth, but yet I have to dodge equestrian land mines!

Yeah, I noticed there were some big'uns out there today, in multiple spots on the trail and yet we didn't see any horses throughout the course of the day.

A few of them were in tricky sections of the trail where if you round the corner, you wouldn't see it coming. Talk about your technical trail features. ;)

OK so on another more serious note, who maintains the Difficult Run Trail? There is a tree maybe a few hundered yards in from the parking lot (near the skate rink) that looks as if it is rotted and is very close to falling across the trail. Its fairly large. It is currently held inm place by another tree, but a good wind, and Im pretty sure this thing will fall! Who can we contact to get this tree removed, or cut down?

Also, the tree near the back of the soccer fields (I think thats what they are) is about to fall also. The tree seems to be getting progressivly lower and lower, and is currently held up by other smaller trees. This tree also needs to be removed or cut down.

Thanks
Brian

Frank Raiti is the current trail liaison. I'm sure he could contact the park maintenance folks.

Check out contact info here: http://www.more-mtb.org/forum/showthread.php?t=18121

BrianThanks for the information Brian. Frank and I both followup on Colts Neck issues. I'll ensure somebody checks out the trees you've described. Robert Conley.

I'd rather hit a horse pile than fall in the stank mud under the toll road.

Took my daughter on her maiden voyage of this loop. She fell in the mud, but her only injury was to her pride. Falling their is almost a rite of passage, everyone I know seems to have gone down there at least once.
